MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: To support and develop enhancements to Equities Program Trading’s Grouper application in order to adapt the growing specifications of the AES trading platform. This is a software development role that will work closely with the AES team. The candidate will enhance the Grouper application to manage the volume, maintain compliance and meet the needs of the AES desk. The individual must also be prepared to provide support for application. The role will involve a lot of interaction with the business and with other teams throughout the organisation. The candidate should therefore be a skilled communicator of ideas, have good influencing skills and be able to translate often-imprecise business ideas into concrete deliverables. Required Skills:
Experience/Skills Required: At least 5 years industry experience in relevant technologies and business line. Experience in design and development using relational databases and in database-oriented applications. Preferably using Sybase or SQL 2000+ Familiarity with OO design concepts and one or more OO language (C# ideally) Strong analytical skills: ability to understand and critique specifications, confident to push back on unclear requirements. Project lifecycle experience: delivery on at least 2 large scale, highly complex projects. Strong English Language skills. Team oriented. Knowledge of design patterns specially Required: C# SQL PERL Strong knowledge of C# 3.5, SQL, database design and database performance Familiarity with design patterns and a background in object oriented design. Independent worker capable of gathering specifications, developing the code and delivering the solution with moderate oversight. Knowledge of the booking, clearing and back office operations.
