| REASON FOR CRITICAL HIRE: Oracle Database Administrator is needed for New Data WareHouse Project -Deployment of New Data Warehouse AP Shared Infrastructure. The DWH AP provides a shared platform (hardware, software and processes) for integrating data from multiple internal and external sources for developing, deploying and operating applications that implement reporting, analysis and data mining functions MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: Successful candidate will work as part of a centralized team focused on providing reliant, performant platforms that give our clients the competitive edge required in today's markets. The individual will have primary responsibility for the development, deployment and subsequent maintenance of database solutions used to support the firm's business. The position demands a high degree of proficiency in core administrative functions in Oracle. Basic administrative and troubleshooting skills on a second platform will be required to be successful in this role. Successful candidates should have an in depth knowledge of: Large and Very large databases( Warehousing ), performance & tuning (Dataserver & code), key configuration parameters, version features and platform specific replication technologies as these skills are used on a routine basis. Additionally, the candidate may have the opportunity to work on our datacentre initiative. Routine Role Responsibilities: Installing, upgrading, and maintenance of Oracle, Sybase and Microsoft dataservers on Linux, Sun Solaris and WinNT environments, respectively Troubleshooting and correcting database issues in an efficient and timely manner mitigating all risks and ensuring uninterrupted continuation of the business flow. Document and enforce all database architecture and relevant procedures according to established standards. Proactively monitor resource utilization to ensure client response time meets expected service levels and to help ensure uninterrupted system availability. Proactive review of database configuration, security, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database monitoring. Develop strategies for database recovery and implementation of databases. Participation in 24*7*365 on-call rota Weekend work in support of project deliverables, DR testing, security patching etc. Proactively ensure production stability. Client relationship management: A senior DBA is expected to be able to comfortably manage client relationships and expectations. Meeting management: A senior DBA is expected to be able comfortably coordinate and manage a meeting. Additionally, a senior DBA is expected to have sufficient expert knowledge about DBA policies, procedures, standards and supported technologies to be able to represent team perspective in meetings. Additional responsibilities will be to work closely with members of our engineering and capacity and optimization groups to help define the platforms and tools used in our production environment. |

Required Skills: |

| Essential: Experience of Datawarehousing, Proven track record in delivery of multiple concurrent business objectives in a 24*7 production environment. Applicant should have a minimum of 8-10years industry experience in Database Administration related fields. Problem management experience for large scale problems such as site disaster recovery, sql worm, san failure. DWH , Oracle 10 and 11. Understanding of supporting infrastructure technologies such as Unix, NT, Storage (EMC, Clarion), Clustering solutions, BCV, SRDF. Bachelor's degree in either Science, Business or Engineering. |
