Project Description:
Our direct financial services client in NY/NJ has multiple openings for a Senior Manager on their Partnership Tax team! This position provides a competive salary and extensive benefits package. The ideal candidate will work with partnership tax leadership to further develop the overall technology strategy for partnership tax compliance that assists with standardization of partnership tax methodologies, improves internal processes, and enables our people to improve quality; provide overall product direction, requirements and prioritization, return on investment objectives, and overall delivery; become a trusted advisor with senior partnership tax leaders and stakeholders to meet business objectives; interface with clients, project stakeholders, and team members in various phases of partnership projects and manage customer expectations; manage ongoing two-way communications with partnership tax group and the Tax Technology Practice (TTP) and lead the program and portfolio management meetings for the business; direct the partnership tax technology team in the clear definition of the business requirements to support the business case and project definition; provide effective communication of TTP capabilities, policies, and procedures in business termsbe an active participant in business leadership meetings; serve as a business advocate within TTP to deliver on business objectives; help to ensure that proper risk and TTP best practices and policies are used for the technology business initiatives; promote the partnership technology agenda within Tax, and work closely with FedTax service line leaders to secure their leadership and support; assist with Partnership tax interpretations and technical tax advice to project teams and work proactively with other Directors in TTP to ensure fit and integration with other Partnership and FedTax tools.


Required Skills:
5+ years of partnership tax compliance experience is needed and a good understanding of tax compliance systems, such as Thomson or CCH products is preferred;
Strong technical background in the specific tax issues facing partnerships, as well as familiarity with one or more of the following industries, real estate, financial services, hedge fund, private equity, and/or oil and gas; able to develop and understand the overall strategy with respect to initiatives of both Partnership tax leadership and TTP, linking them closely to the Tax overall business strategy, guiding principles, and key success measures; possess advanced analytic skills including strategic thinking and planning, complex data analysis and excellent verbal, written, presentation and editorial skills; able to lead a team to define innovative technology solutions that meet the business objectives needs; positive interpersonal, diplomatic and negotiating skills that can be applied to both internal and external relationships with diverse personalities; self-motivated and disciplined and possess a high degree of integrity; detail-oriented, resourceful and comfortable working as part of a service-oriented team; demonstrated people management skills, leadership and team-building skills, effective time management skills, and excellent technical writing and strong verbal communication skills; strong interest and aptitude for technology and possess specific technology skills, as well understand the software development life cycle. Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited college/university.
