| Scope and Scale: The Operational Readiness Project Manager position is an influential and highly visible role reporting directly to the Head of the Desktop Platform within RDO. This role is responsible for the technical and operational readiness of the current support group as it relates to the new desktop refresh program, iDesktop. Operational readiness applies to all technical groups within the support function (Networks, Web, Desktop, Service, Helpdesk, etc.) This position will work closely with the Deployment Project Manager for the Americas phase of the project. This role is aligned to the Americas but requires considerable interaction and partnership with other groups in EMEA and ASPAC Scope of responsibility and scale include: Environment Scale: Physical Desktop supported : 25,000 Virtual Desktops supported : 6,000 Handheld supported : 6,000 regionally Total clients supported : 20,000 staff or third-party partners in the Americas Windows Scope: Windows 7 Desktop (32 bit and/or 64 bit) Physical and Virtual IE 8 Office 2010 Smart Card Authentication Office Communicator Single AD structure, must co-exist with the legacy environment Enterprise Tools, SCCM / WSUS / Altiris |

| Core Responsibilities: The below are critical aspects of the role as it relates to the Americas organizational structure: Responsible for ensuring operational readiness for all support groups Responsible for capturing all support and technology requirements from support groups and communicating these into the overall project Responsible for the technical coordination and integration of all technical workstreams within the project with non-project technical initiatives Responsible for defining technical acceptance criteria regarding formal acceptance of each deployment phase Responsible for managing the SMEs aligned to the major technology streams within the project and allocating their time to assisting BAU support Responsible for ensuring interoperability between the legacy and iDesktop environment for the duration of the project Background & Relevant Experience: The successful candidate will be well versed in desktop deployments and service and have a familiarity with enterprise Windows environments and should posses the following characteristics and skills: Excellent customer service skills and has the ability to interface and communicate with all levels within a corporation Experience with large scale desktop refreshes for companies similar in size. Proven track record of delivering detailed technology change with minimal impact to the end client Extensive knowledge of Windows Desktop technology and enterprise infrastructure Windows Architecture VMWare Citrix Network Architecture SAN & NAS Excellent written ability with extensive experience in using Sharepoint / Powerpoint for project reporting and Project for detailed project reporting Experience in running the technical portions of a large scale Desktop migration or upgrade 10+ years dealing with 3rd party vendor support Experience with defining / redefining technology support models as related to mass changes in infrastructure or technology Experience in delivering technology initiatives into large, medium and small client sites Must be able to work collaboratively and across geographic boundaries to deliver an end product and service |
